As of 12/17/2020
Over the last few days, we had three employees not feel well and sent home. These three individuals were instructed to test for COVID prior to their return to school. The test results were positive. In turn, a large number of our high school staff have been quarantined because they were listed as a "close contact" to the three who tested positive. The limited number of staff on our campus has led us to reconsider our remaining high school testing schedule. In coordination with our central office, we are forced to cancel the remaining final exams for the semester. Along with this decision, all high school students will work virtually for the next three days (Friday, Monday, and Tuesday). This goes into effect immediately. There will be no high school students at Pressly School from Friday, December 18th through Tuesday, December 22nd. All high school students that were unable to take their exams this week will be provided an opportunity to take them in January.
Although this is currently impacting only our high school students and staff, I understand as a parent you will have concerns. Please rest assured that our school is clean and safe for the remaining students in grades K-8 that are attending face-to-face. Anyone who was deemed a close contact is quarantining at home. Our building has been thoroughly cleaned, and we are practicing social distancing, mask-wearing, and handwashing. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school to discuss them with us. We look forward to a great rest of the week at Pressly!
